ZignX product description

ZignX is a hardware security product the size of a CD-ROM drive to be installed on the front of an existing PC. ZignX makes it possible to maintain two (or more) galvanically separate configurations on one PC system each with a secure user access control.

The ZignX ensures that damages on one system never affect the other. Until now, the combination of data security and flexible usage has not previously been possible on either PCs at home or at work.

Profiles
Zignx controls all the internal devices (e.g. hard disk) of the PC system simply by switching power on or off. Each device is controlled individually and associated with one or more profiles. A profile is therefore most adequately described as a combination of devices that are active (powered) when the profile starts up.

Thus, one user profile may be excluded from using CD-ROM and disk drives, while another profile has full access. This makes it possible to control whether software and data can be added to or removed from the system or the network.

Using two hard disks in the same PC with two different profiles makes it possible to maintain two galvanically separate configurations on one PC system. Zignx also permits access to two galvanically separate networks on the same PC without any risk of data or viruses spreading between the two networks. Access control system
The access control system consists of a combination of a Token (SmartCard) and/or a user password. It controls which users have access to which profiles at what time. The combination of using Smart Cards, pin codes, profiles, and domains makes it easier to secure many PCs and users in a company.

The password and SmartCard are verified internally in the isolated ZignX device, protecting against common methods of stealing passwords.

Virus and hacker proof
The operation of ZignX is fully autonomous and requires no data connection to the PC. ZignX is independent of software on the existing equipment and is therefore fully operating system and platform independent. This makes for a very efficient solution that can be used in any type of PC, under any operating system.
